The Dimock Center

Our Clinical Programs

As the largest community–based agency in Roxbury, today Dimock provides comprehensive health and human services to thousands of families each year. Both on the Dimock campus and in satellite locations, Dimock offers many different programs including:

Dimock provides services to residents of Roxbury, Jamaica Plain, Dorchester and Mattapan.  In addition to self–enrollment, Dimock receives referrals from physicians, hospitals, the courts and other community agencies.  Many of these referral relationships have developed into formal service arrangements.

Many of our patients and clients are seen on our nine acre campus in Roxbury.   Medical services are delivered on–site.  Our transitional housing and residential recovery houses are also on-site as is our Teen Center and some of our childcare programs.  However, some of our other programs are based in the greater Boston community, e.g., DMR residential houses for the developmentally disabled and Transitions of Boston for the mentally ill.

Dimock has a patient roster of about 40,000 with a wide range of socioeconomic and ethnic backgrounds.  Dimock serves more than 500 clients each day.  No one is refused care based on their ability to pay.

President Ruth Ellen Fitch and a senior management team oversee the day-to-day operations of the health center.  An active Board of directors, comprised of community representatives and Boston business leaders provide overall governance and policy guidance.  Dimock is licensed by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts under the Department of Public Health, and is a JCAHO accredited organization in both the Health Care and Behavioral Health Opiod Treatment Programs.
