On July 24th, Dimock’s Community Care Program hosted a seminar for HIV/AIDS case managers and counselors. Approximately 30 professionals attended the seminar, which was facilitated by The Dimock Center’s Director of Infectious Diseases, Dr. Bela Bashar, and featured Dr. David Rubenstein, PsyD, MSW, Clinical Associate Professor of Psychiatry and Psychology at Drexel University College of Medicine in Philadelphia.
The program was made possible with funding from the Boston Public Health Commission/HIV/AIDS Services Division through the Ryan White HIV/AIDS Treatment Modernization Act.
On July 17th, Dimock’s Boston Pediatric Family AIDS Project (BPFAP) held the “2009 Keepers of the Family Retreat.” This annual event for families living with HIV/AIDS is organized by the BPFAP and made possible with a Ryan White Part D grant and support from the Barbara Krakow Gallery.
This year, approximately 59 individuals (16 families) attended the day-long event held at the Warren Conference Center in Ashland, MA. The event included seminars, therapeutic and educational activities for adults and children with participants from across Dimock’s BPFAP network.
