Congratulations to The Dimock Center's Behavioral Health team for being highlighted in the September issue of NIATx, The Network for the Improvement of Addiction Treatment. NIATx is a company that develops models of process improvement for behavioral health professionals. These models allow small changes that have substantial outcomes. In the case of The Dimock Center, Shaun Baran, Chief Compliance Officer, and Outpatient team members, Evelyn Dougherty, Sharon Kozak , Vanessia Hill and Dr. Nina Mitra advanced the model, reducing waiting times for intake appointments over an 18 month period. Their successful model increased capacity for appointments by 12%, reduced waiting times for intake appointments from 14 to 4.7 days, resulting in fewer clients in the waiting area, and improved staff morale, communication, and cohesion. With increased units of service and an improved image as being more responsive to the community, the Dimock's Behavioral Health team improved NIATx's model and it is now used in other outpatient settings across Massachusetts.
